Grab-n-Go is an app that eliminates the frustration of waiting in concession lines by letting moviegoers pre-order, customize, and receive snacks through express pickup or in-seat delivery. The goal was to design a seamless, inclusive experience that saves time and enhances enjoyment without interrupting the movie.

The Problem

Long concession lines cause stress, rushed decisions, and missed movie moments. Current mobile ordering is unreliable and still requires pickup at crowded counters. Many people skip snacks entirely, leading to lost sales for theaters and a worse experience for users.

The Solution

Eliminate long waits at concession lines to increase users enjoyable experience

Real time tracking to give users better visibility

Accessibility features to make sure the app worked for everyone, no matter their background or location

The Goal

To enhance the moviegoing experience by removing the inconvenience of concession lines. The app was designed to let users pre-order snacks, pick them up quickly, or have them delivered directly to their seats, ensuring a seamless, time-saving, and enjoyable experience without interruptions.

My Process

Research and Insights

10 interviews and 10 surverys of frequent movegoers:

  • 70% skipped snacks to avoid long lines

  • 80% wanted in seat delivery

  • 70% avoided refills mid movie

  • Studied competitors like AMC and Regal to identify gaps.

Wireframes and Layout

  • Designed a mobile first, spacing-conscious layout

  • Structured sections to follow visual rhythm and allow breathing room

  • Created bold headers and consistent font styles to emphasize key info

Accessibility Considerations

  • High contrast between text and background

  • Large, tappable buttons for mobile users

  • Clear section headings and readable fonts

  • 2 personas used

Call To Action Logic

  • Critical navigation is exposed as bottom navigation

  • Spaced out icons with opposing functions to avoid mis-taps

  • Ensure minimum size because inputs are never precise

Visual Design

  • Intentionally selected colors to draw attention and retain users.

  • Placed custom visuals to keep users engaged and to aid users
